'Unable to attach to a resource' - restoring to different location

The above article explains that I am blocked from running a test restore of a database at a DR site. The DR site doesn't run the same server names.

Every part to my DR strategy works a dream except for Backup Exec. How can it be that I cannot restore a database to any machine I wish? It should be straightforward.

Am I wrongly reaching the end of my tether with backup exec? or is it time to give up on this frustrating version. (That's backup exec 2012 by the way.)
